SCORCHING PACE.. THAT ALDO NICELY
SWANSEA HUDDERSFIELD
ALDO KALULU reckons he can bring the spirit of Dan James back to the Liberty Stadium with his scorching pace.
The French winger starred on his first league start in four months to get Swansea back in the promotion picture – and leave Huddersfield in a relegation dogfight.
Steve Cooper’s men face a true test of their play-off credentials when they head to Fulham on Wednesday – and Kalulu (above) is desperate to feature.
He said: “I’m a new player competitor within the squad and I think I made some points with this performance.
“I hope I will play in midweek but this depends on the coach. I’m here and I’m fit now and I’m hungry for more.”
Kalulu’s quick feet had the home crowd on their feet, and he hopes to make the same impact as Manchester United’s former Swan James.
“Maybe I have a little of what Dan James gave the team last year,” he said.
Kalulu left Jonathan Hogg for dead before his cross led to Andre Ayew’s opener.
Chris Willock’s shot was steered home by the faintest of touches from Steve Mounie for the Terriers’ equaliser before
Swansea re-established control with goals from Jay Fulton and Jordon Garrick.
Winger Willock said: “We didn’t stop trying and were unlucky not to get something out of the game.
“We’re taking every game as comes and we’ve had our ups and downs – but I still think we’re improving and hopefully we can pick up some points now.” SWANSEA: Woodman 6, Naughton 7, Rodon 8, Cabango 7, Bidwell 7, Fulton 7 (Wilmot 89), Grimes 7, Ayew 7, Gallagher 8, Kalulu 9 (Garrick 63, 7), Brewster 8 (Roberts 90).
