Boomtime in bedroom for Bob
Geldof still ‘electrified’ by wife Jeanne
BOB Geldof has lifted the lid on his sex life with his wife who he said still “electrifies” him in the bedroom. The 68-year-old revealed he doesn’t always need “chemical assistance” with Jeanne Marine, his partner of 25 years.
But the Boomtown Rats singer told RTE’S Tommy Tiernan Show sex at his age was “difficult”. He said: “That laser-driven drive of a 16-year-old clearly isn’t there. As you age it tempers. By 68 it doesn’t always need chemical assistance but it f ***** g helps.”
Jeanne, 54, is Geldof ’s second wife. He was previously married to Paula Yates who died in 2000 from a heroin overdose.
He popped the question to the French actress in 2014, just weeks after his 25-year-old daughter Peaches Geldof died. They got married the following year. Speaking of Jeanne, Geldof told comedian Tommy: “You must be very careful because the beauty of a longmarried wife hides in plain sight.
“And you must always look to that woman who animates you, so once again she electrifies you.
“It’s very easy with my missus who I’ve been with for 25 years. I’m sort of a one-woman geezer.” In the same interview, the musician described the grief of losing Peaches to an overdose nearly six years ago as “bottomless”.
He said: “Time doesn’t heal, time accommodates. It’s ever-present.
“You’re driving along and for no reason whatsoever the person in question inhabits you and I’ll cry.
“And then I’ll look around to make sure the people next door don’t see me.
“But that happens and that happens to everyone. And so you say, ‘OK, it’s time to cry now’.”
