Wind energy blows away competition
IRELAND’S wind energy industry has broken new records and provides a third of the country’s electricity, it has been revealed.
The Irish Wind Energy Association’s said four farms were connected in 2019 with a combined installed capacity of 463 MW, making it the secondbest year on record.
And wind energy met a record 32.5% of our electricity demand.
IWEA chief Dr David said: “Wind energy in Ireland is going from strength to strength.
“Every year we are cutting more CO2 emissions and reducing dependency on imported fossil fuels.”
