LOWES BLOW FOR REA
ALEX LOWES stormed to his first win on a Kawasaki as Scott Redding made it a great weekend for the Brits.
Lowes (right) beat new team-mate Jonathan Rea by 0.037secs yesterday after an epic battle with the reigning world champion. He hit the front on the penultimate lap, then held off Rea to take a second career win. Lowes, who was second in Saturday’s opening race, said: “Johnny tried to control the pace, but luckily in the end I had a bit more grip.” And there was a strong debut for reigning British Superbike champion Redding, who took third in both races and the 10-lap Superpole on his Aruba Ducati.
