HEATHER WATSON won the Mexican
Open – her first title since 2016 – to climb back into the world’s top 50.
The British No.2, who beat Canada’s Leylah Fernandez 6-4 6-7 6-1 on her 10th match-point, said:
“I’m so happy to get my fourth title.
“It’s been a few years so I’m just really, really happy I came through.”
Rafa Nadal took the men’s title with a 6-3 6-2 win over American Taylor Fritz.
Novak Djokovic stays No.1 after maintaining his unbeaten start to 2020 with a 6-3 6-4 defeat of Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Dubai Duty Free final.
