Mo record is broken by Bekele

-

ETHIOPIAN Kenenisa Bekele won the Vitality Big Half in London yesterday – and broke Mo Farah’s course record.

The second fastest marathon runner of all time won the men’s race in 60:22 – taking 53 seconds off the time Farah won in 12 months ago – ahead of Britons Chris Thompson in 61:07 and Jake Smith in 62:00.

“I wasn’t focused on time today, I just wanted to win,” said Bekele.

There was a British 1-2-3 in the women’s race as Lily Partridge won in 70:50 from Samantha Harrison (71:01) and Stephanie Davis (71:15).
