HUGILL’S ALL OUT FOR WAR

- BY TOM HARVEY

JORDAN HUGILL insists Mark Warburton’s QPR can still nick a play-off spot.

The on-loan West Ham striker believes the Hoops’ season is far from over.

Hugill (above) said: “There are only nine points between us and the play-offs.

“There’s always one team that has that run towards the end of the season to snatch that last place.

“We have to keep our sights on that. You’ve got to aim for something.

“For me personally, I’m aiming for a certain number of goals – and for the team we’ve got to keep aiming for that last play-off spot.

“We’ll keep going. If we can carry on this run, who knows where it will take us.” Life was looking up for QPR with goals from Marc Pugh and Hugill – his 13th of the season.

But two-goal Scott Hogan, on loan from Aston Villa, ensured Pep Clotet’s Birmingham extended their unbeaten run to 13 games.

Brum defender Harlee Dean, who spent three seasons at Brentford with in-form Hogan, said: “Scott will score goals wherever he plays. He’s just got to be trusted.

“He’s not going to smash a centre-half, he’s going to run in behind.

“Scott’s just a finisher. It’s not luck, it’s instinct.

“He’s been a breath of fresh air and really helped us kick on. I’m delighted for him.”
