Pacino as Montana

UNIVERSAL Pictures is said to have picked Italian Luca Guadagnino to direct a remake of the classic gangster film Scarface.

There is no official word yet on who will be Tony Montana, played in the 1983 movie by Al Pacino.

Pacino’s version was itself a remake of the 1932 film produced by Howard Hughes.

Guadagnino received an Oscar-nomination for Best Picture for the romance Call Me By Your Name.

POP star Rihanna has been named as one of Britain’s richest women – with a fortune of €524million.

A record 150 of the 1,000 wealthiest people in the UK are women, according to the latest edition of the Sunday Times Rich List. Of those, 25 are billionaires – another all-time high.

Barbadian singer Rihanna, 32, makes it on to the list because she is now based in London. Her huge wealth is thanks in part to the storming success of her Fenty business brand, which stretches from cosmetics to fashion.

She said in an interview last year: “I never thought I would make this much money, so a number is not going to stop me from working.”

She is ranked 48th in the list of wealthiest women. Last year, there were 136 women in the UK’S Sunday Times Rich List, of whom 22 were billionaires.

In fifth place this year is betting queen Denise Coates, 52, joint chief executive of online gambling giant Bet365, who has seen her fortune soar by €347m to almost €8billion in the past year, despite the impact of the coronavirus shutdown on sport. She paid herself €360m in 2018 – a record for the boss of a UK business.

Topping this year’s female list is Swede Kirsten Rausing, 67 – with €13.5bn.

Together with her brothers Jorn and Finn, she owns the firm behind

Up €347m in past year packaging business Tetra Pak. Their uncle Hans died last year but his widow, Marit, is third on the list.

Other famous names include actress Salma Hayek, who shares €7.4bn with her husband Françoishenri Pinault. He oversees luxury brands, such as Gucci, through his family’s Kering operation.

Actress Catherine Zetajones is said to have a combined wealth of €235m with her Hollywood star, husband Michael Douglas.

And author JK Rowling has amassed a €890m fortune from her Harry Potter books and films.

She has previously talked about why she is happy to pay UK taxes, saying: “I’m

Up €52.6m in past year indebted to the welfare state. When my life hit rock bottom, that safety net was there to break the fall.”

Two other authors who make the list are Yorkshirewoman Barbara Taylor Bradford, worth €180m, and EL James of Fifty Shades of Grey fame, who has a total wealth of €147m.

Elisabeth Murdoch joins the ranks of the billionaires with a personal fortune of €1.34bn. The sale of 21st Century Fox to Disney last year saw £10bn in cash and Disney shares split between the six children of her media mogul father Rupert Murdoch.

The authors of the report did not reveal where the Queen appears on this year’s list. Her Majesty was ranked 356 last year with €414m.
