Claire ‘sick as a frog’ since she had killer bug

CLAIRE Byrne is still recovering from having coronavirus in March and has been “sick as a frog” since.
The RTE host made headlines when she presented her current affairs show from her shed at home and went on to reveal she had been diagnosed with Covid-19.
However, despite continuing to work through the illness, Claire, 44, admitted she still hasn’t returned to full health and feels more vulnerable to other conditions.
She told The Today Show: “It’s funny looking back on it. It was such a strange moment.
“So the first week that I presented from the shed, I thought I had a cold and I can’t shake it.
“And then the second week I knew I had coronavirus at that stage.
“I was probably sicker the second week and what I can tell you about it is that I think people think it is a 14-day illness and if you’re not hospitalised you’re grand.
“You just have all sorts of respiratory issues.”
The busy mum to three young kids feels she has been more prone to other colds and illnesses since her spat with the killer virus.
She added: “What I found afterwards was that it was really hard to recover from it.
“And since I had it, back in March, I had my test back on St Patrick’s Day so that’s a long time ago now, but since then I have picked up every cold going, every stomach bug going so I felt a bit depleted.
“I am no expert... but my own personal experience is that I have all of these things going on since then that I wouldn’t have had before.”
