Dublin city pedestrian trials all set
WEEKEND trials for pedestrianised areas around Dublin City Centre will take place over the coming weeks as part of a new plan for the capital.
The pilot will see areas near Grafton Street become a car-free zone on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 7pm beginning on July 25.
Included in the pedestrian plans – which will run for four weekends – are South Anne Street, Duke Street, Drury Street and Dame Court.
Green Party councillor Michael Pidgeon said: “There’s very little car traffic, the streets are almost entirely commercial so there’s huge footfall.”
