Jamie’s fearfty shades on new film set

Irish screen star wanted to ‘run away’ on day one

JAMIE Dornan has revealed he wanted to “run away” from the set of his latest film during his first night of filming, adding he was ”terrified”.

The Co Down star was chatting to Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford on yesterday’s This Morning programme on ITV about his upcoming film, Endings Beginnings, which is due for release tomorrow.

Written by Drake Doremus, the film is semi-improvised, meaning Dornan and his fellow stars Shailene Woodley, who plays Daphne, and Sebastian Stan, who plays Frank, have to fill in the gaps with their own dialogue, something which terrified the 50 Shades star.

He said: “The first night I thought about running away I was that terrified.

“They had already been shooting for two weeks, I was doing something else so I couldn’t, so they were into the groove of it.

“I came in the first night, not knowing anybody... and I was so terrified I thought about running away. I thought ‘What are the ramifications here, if I run?’ But I came to my senses.”

He added: “I’ve done a little bit of improvisation before earlier in my career but certainly not a whole movie’s worth.”

But Dornan relished the challenge, adding that his relationship with the director meant he was able to persuade him to allow him to perform the role using his own accent.

He said: “Because there is such a reliance on improvisation, it fits if you can use your original accent so we worked it in that Jack would be Irish and it would all just make sense.”

■ Endings Beginnings will be released to buy and rent on Amazon, Virgin and Sky from tomorrow.
