€50m support for beef farmers
INCOME supports for more than 42,000 farmers have been announced by the Agriculture Minister.
Dara Calleary revealed details for the Beef Finishers Payment, an Exchequer funded scheme of €50million to help those with beef finishing enterprises who have been impacted by the pandemic.
He said: “Beef farming is an important economic activity, with a significant multiplier effect in local rural communities, and thus is more important than ever in sustaining these communities as we work towards economic recovery.”
Applications open on August 19 and will close on September 9.
