Sinn Fein pair sign condolences book
MICHELLE O’neill and Martina Anderson signed the book of condolences dedicated to John Hume in Derry’s Guildhall.
Similar tributes have been opened in Belfast, Dublin and Wicklow and on-line versions have also been established.
Mayor of Derry and Strabane Brian Tierney said: “He made many personal sacrifices along the way, but never lost sight of his ultimate ambition - the end to prejudice and a peaceful and prosperous society for all.
“This is a sad day for Derry, the North and all of Ireland. We have lost a champion, a leader and a proud son of Derry.”
