Fresh appeal in missing Philip case
A RETIRED garda has urged the public to come forward with any information to solve the disappearance of schoolboy Philip Cairns 34 years ago.
On October 23 1986, Philip left to make the return trip to Colaiste Éanna Secondary School in Rathfarnham in Dublin following his lunch at his home in Ballyroan Road. He was never seen again.
A documentary on the case will be shown on RTE One tonight at 7pm.
Retired detective Gerald Lovett said: “There is a chance that someone who knows something, there’s every chance they might be watching.
“It is time to give a measure of comfort to the family of Philip.”
