WE’LL STILL BE IN FOR A ROUGH BRYDE
LEINSTER see Saracens’ Champions Cup final victory last year as “a warning and a motivation”.
Blues forwards coach Robin Mcbryde (right) sampled his first trophy success with the province when they won the PRO14 title on Saturday.
But there was little celebration with such a big game so close on the horizon.
“You want to right the wrongs of the past,” said Welshman Mcbryde, who joined the Blues after the World Cup and so missed last year’s final loss in Newcastle.
“But, it’s also a warning that you’re up against a quality team that’s used to winning away from home and used to winning big championships with vastly experienced big game players who are very well coached. If anything, it’s putting us on our guard a little bit more.
“We know that last Saturday we didn’t get certain areas right against Ulster, the lineout in particular, so we must improve on that performance.”
