Reds need to dust off Kopwebs
I POINTED out a few times after analysing Liverpool games last season that they took time to get going and that better teams might have had some joy against them in the opening 20 minutes.
The game against Brighton stood out.
So what we saw from
Jurgen Klopp’s men against Leeds on Saturday wasn’t a case of them doing things completely differently – that mild Achilles heel was already there. It’s just that last season they got away with it.
The worry for Liverpool is that more managers will try this season to get after them straight from kick-off after seeing what Leeds did to them at Anfield. It needed a hat-trick from Mo Salah (left, with Klopp) to rescue them.
Liverpool still have enough tools to make sure they score at least one goal more than most opponents, but it’s still a concern for Klopp.
