NUNO GIVES HIS WOLVES A GREAT BIG THUMBS UP

- BY SIMON BIRD

MOLINEUX boss Nuno Espirito Santo celebrated his new contract with a seasonopening win – but challenged his stars to be braver.

Wolves blew Sheffield United away in the opening six minutes with goals from Raul Jimenez and Romain Saiss.

And manager Nuno said: “We started aggressively and were effective. But to improve,

we have to stay humble and be brave.”

The Portuguese gaffer, who this week signed a three-year-deal at Molineux, went on: “We were effective in the box, and we worked hard in defence to keep a clean sheet.”

Nuno (with skipper Conor Coady, above) led Wolves to seventh spot last term and is aiming higher this time around. “This is just the first game but we have an idea for the season – growing is our aim.”

Blades, who enjoyed a great first season in the top flight, could never recover from the two early goals. Boss Chris Wilder said: “To be 2-0 down to a side with unbelievable pace on the counter is difficult. We had to take risks.”
