Weather will be extreme in the future
IRELAND is a facing a future of hotter temperatures and more extreme weather, a climate report has claimed.
Forecasting patterns between 2041 and 2060, experts at the Irish Centre for High- End Computing said temperatures could rise by between 1 C and 1.6C.
Snow fall could also decrease by 50%.
An ICHEC spokesman said: “Ireland’s climate is changing, our models indicate this is resulting in higher temperatures, changing precipitation patterns and increases in the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events.
“These changes are expected to continue and intensify into the future.”
