‘ Grade system will help clear tests backlog’
A CALCULATED grade system for learner drivers has been called for as the backlog for tests continues to grow.
EDT Driving Instructors should be given teachercertif y styl e powers t o enable learners to demonstrate their proficiency and receive a full licence.

T h e f i r m’s D e i r d r e Mccarthy added: “Of the more than 85,000 drivers on the waiting list, approximately 24,000 of them are actually on the EDT list.
“This list is mostly made of young drivers who are already paying high prices for their insurance.”
