the highlight of h e r t i me o n the series was getting to see inside Prince’s h o m e n e a r M a r b e l l a i n Spain during a celebrity special f e a t u r i n g Ta r a Palmer- Tomkinson.

She said: “It was amazing. It was exactly what you would expect.

“He had this 40ft poster of him himself above this big sweeping stair staircase.

“Ev Everything was purple marble and his bed was a carved four- poster with purple satin sheets and a mirror abov above it.

“If I had gone there and he had a plain doub double bed with a polyester duvet cover I would wou have been really upset.”

Sh She added: “One of my favourite ever prop properties was on the Greek island of Paro Paros, where a German couple had camp camped on the land for three months to wo work out where the sun rose and set. They then built a fabulous house with

seven terraces which would get the sun at different times of the day. Idyllic.”

Former model Danni is currently on the road with the show and admits Covid restrictions are making filming difficult.

She said: “I ’m busy f i l ming three months of back- to- back episodes. I ’ve been in Italy, Portugal and now I ’m in Spain – it’s great to be away and the food is incredible.

“It ’s b e e n i nt e re st i ng f i l ming i n lockdown. It has made life a whole lot more difficult but we are managing. The house- hunters and I are only able to take our masks off when we are on camera and we have to maintain 2m distancing, which is tricky in smaller properties.

“When we f i l m i nside the rooms we are only allowed to be in that room for 15 minutes with masks off, which means it’s a race against time to get content done. Some countries are more relaxed than others.

“We are in Spain now, which is much more strict, so we are having to take extra care.” Danni, who is looking forward to returning to Scotland for Christmas, is animal daft and has been using her time on the show to rescue stricken creatures.

She said: “Before becoming a presenter I used to rescue horses and now when I’m on the road I’m always on the lookout for animals that need my help.

“Last year we were driving in the mountains of Spain when I saw this little half- dead puppy at the side of the road. I took her back to my hotel room and nursed her until a lovely animal charity f ound a nice couple to adopt her.

“This time round I am trying to rescue an ostrich that is being kept in appalling conditions. I would love to do a programme where I travel round the world saving animals.”

Danni added: “A Place in the Sun has opened so many doors for me and I ’m having a ball.

“Happy birthday – and here’s to the next 21 years.”

A Place in the Sun celebrates its 21st anniversary by going prime time on Channel 4 on Sunday at 7pm.
