DE AD Sti l l st ar Ji mmy Smallhorne has admitted he thought RTE’S period drama could be a disaster until he reali sed it was hilarious during filming.
And the Dublin actor, famous for playing rapist gangster Git in Love/ Hate, s a i d : “I l o v e p l a y i n g comedy, it’s very natural for me and it’s very easy.
“When I read the scripts I thought Jesus, thi s i s really funny.
“And then I thought, oh f * * k , t h e I r i s h d o i n g comedy, it’s going to be a disaster.
“As we started to do it, it was really, really funny.
“They had this very easy way of directing and l et you just do your thing.”
