Plane in loch fund lifts off
A TAR GET o f n e a r l y € 30,000 has been raised to save a Second World War seaplane after it became stranded on Loch Ness.
The Catalina flying boat, named Mi s s Pi c k Up, suffered engine failure near Inverness last week.
Owners Plane Sailing set up a fundraising appeal in a bid to return it to their base in Duxford, Cambs.
The seaplane is one of a handful of Catalinas still airworthy. Organiser Matt Dearden said the response was “overwhelming”.
