Imperial Mausoleums Of The Tang Dynasty, China

-

In Chang’an ( today’s Xi’an), tombs of the Tang dynasty ( 618–

907 AD) lie scattered across the Guangzhong plain, known as China’s Valley of the Kings. The largest mausoleum, Zhaoling, belonged to emperor Taizong, occupying more space than the ancient capital Chang’an. Excavations of the spirit path leading to the tomb brought to light six reliefs featuring Taizong’s favourite stallion and 14 foreign envoys, testimony to his international relations along the Silk Road.
