This May be a bit special

-

WATCH out Mayo - it will be a titanic battle with Roscommon.

Anthony Cunningham’s side will not be easy beaten in the Hyde and Mayo will have to be on their game in every line of the field.

There are three deciding factors here:

1. Aidan O Shea ( right) - I feel Roscommon must put Sean Mullooly on him. He’s one of the best defenders in the game and these two giants going head to head will be worth watching.

2. Midfield is crucial. Cathal Compton and Tadgh O’rourke or Shane Killoran must make hay against Mayo’s Matthew Ruane and Conor Loftus.

3 . The bench is where I feel Roscommon have the edge. It’s the strongest Roscommon squad I’ve seen so I wouldn’t be one bit surprised at a

home win.

THE Dubs are on the move for six in a row against Westmeath today. They will win but there are a few reasons why they won’t humiliate the Lake men this time.

Westmeath suffered 27 and 31 point defeats to the Dubs in Croke Park but it should be more competitive in Portlaoise.

Dublin are not the fearsome, ruthless team they were back then and the great Dubs support base on tour won’t be there. They will miss their fans more than any other county.

Under Jack Cooney, Westmeath won’t be as naive defensively. If they keep the margin down to single figures, it’s a job well done. Westmeath should manage that.
