RIVALS A MYSTERY TO MCCALL

- BY JON WEST

STUART MCCALL had to ask his daughter to google Bradford’s non- league cup opponents.

And the Bantams boss ( above) admits he is still not fully clued up on Tonbridge Angels ahead of today’s first round clash.

He said: “I honestly didn’t really know who they were when they came out of the hat. My daughter had to look it up and tell me what league they were in.

“We’ve tried to get footage of them and have watched a couple of their games, though it’s a bit more difficult with them not having squad numbers.

“We’ve just got to be professional. It’s a good pitch they’ve got down there, with just a slight slope, and we’ll look to go out and take a grip of the game early on.

“There’ll be upsets this weekend, I’m sure, but we’ve got to make sure we’re not one of them.”

One Tonbridge player who did catch Mccall’s eye was winger Ben Greenhalgh. Ten years ago he won a reality TV show that earned him a contract at Inter Milan.

Greenhalgh never made it in Serie A but Mccall said: “I looked at their games and thought I recognised his name.

“I remember watching that programme and he’s obviously still a good player because he scored a couple in the last round.”

Mccall, 56, scored both goals in Everton’s 3- 2 loss to Liverpool in the 1989 final. But he has resisted telling his players all about his Wembley exploits.

He added: “I’m not sure many of them know I used to play, it’s such a young side. If we can get to the quarter- finals, it might be nice to talk about it.”
