COCU FACES ISOLATION..

- BY SIMON BIRD

PHILLIP COCU will fight for his job at Derby via Zoom after being banished from the touchline after a Covid outbreak at the club.

The Dutch boss ( below) will be self- isolating for 14 days at the worst possible time... on a run of dreadful results and with a £ 60million takeover very close.

Cocu faces the sack when the takeover by Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan, now approved by the EFL board, is completed.

Coach Liam Rosenior said it was a huge disruption that Cocu could not do his job in person.

He said: “I feel for Phillip – he has the backing of the players 100 per cent. I don’t like this talk of managers losing dressing rooms.”

Barnsley star Callum Styles insists new coach Valerien Ismael has had a positive impact. He said: “We’ve beaten QPR and Watford with two really good performances and those six points are precious.”
