Shaun Ryder’s snake bite ( 2010)

A snake bit the Happy Mondays frontman’s finger when he put his hand in a covered box to find a key.

It refused to let go and the trial was halted – with laid- back Shaun telling hosts Ant and Dec: “It was like sticking your hand through glass.”

Gillian Mckeith ‘ fakes fainting’ ( 2010)

The nutritionist wasn’t the show’s most popular contestant – she was voted to do SEVEN Bushtucker Trials.

One week, Gillian had clearly had enough and dramatically keeled over.

Campmates branded her a fake but doctors said she had an anxiety attack.

Strawberry- gate scandal ( 2017)

Amir Khan and Iain Lee scoffed the strawberries and cream they won in a challenge rather than sharing them.

There was a bad atmosphere when the boxer and radio presenter later confessed, but Iain joked: “Those were the best strawberries I ever had.”

David Gest’s tales ( 2006)

The TV producer became a surprise national treasure, charming viewers with his name- dropping, fantastical tales and blistering one- liners.

One of his best stories was about his maid in Memphis, who he insisted was called Vaginica Seaman.

Dean Gaffney’s nerves ( 2006)

The Eastenders star’s expressions in his Jungle Spa trial were a joy to behold.

Each of his bug “beauty treatments” was greeted with shrieks and grimaces.

Dean at one point screamed: “Oh please, it’s rats!” Ant said it was “one of my favourite moments of my life”.

Gemma Collins lasts just 72 hours ( 2014)

The Towie star’s stay was short but memorable – starting with a panic attack in the chopper on her way in.

She said food rations were worse than in jail and toilet woes made her fear she had malaria. Gemma soon declared the “jungle was not for me”.

Butler Burrell’s hell ( 2004)

Former royal butler Paul rivalled Dean Gaffney with his faces and squeals during a trial. He whimpered as soon as he put his arms in holes filled with creepy crawlies then begged them not to bite him. “It’s the first trial that I laughed uncontrollably,” said Dec.

Peter and Katie fall in love ( 2004)

Season 3 is considered one of the best due to this romance. Despite having a boyfriend, former glamour model Price’s cringeworthy flirting with pop star Andre included tick checks and hammock massages. Sadly, we all know how the romance ended…

WE’RE clearly still wild for I’m a Celebrity as it gears up for its 20th series.

The TV hit’s highlights include rows, romances, hosts Ant and Dec and gutwrenching trials.

And who can forget Myleene Klass soaking up exposure with THAT shower?

Here, we recall the top 20 moments…

Helen Flanagan’s trials ( 2012)

The Corrie star’s perceived lack of effort in trials drove Ant and Dec mad. Her first was the Bug Burial in which she lasted 10 seconds – with Dec calling it a “poor show”.

Viewers voted for her to do trials again and again.

Treephobic Natalie Appleton ( 2004)

The All Saints star looked nervous from the off, walking into camp and shrieking: “I touched a tree!”

She had a huge row with model Sophie Anderton and was voted to do five Bushtucker Trials – but quit before doing the fifth.

Steve Davis takes a tumble ( 2013)

The snooker star was set to scale a rock face in a challenge – but fell into the water before it started.

He had to be given a life jacket, to the delight of Ant and Dec.

Dec declared it “one of my biggest highlights of the year”.

Fatima Whitbread fills her face ( 2011)

The Olympian had around 7,500 cockroaches dumped in her helmet during the Fill Your Face trial.

She needed water to flush one out of her nose but won the challenge – and took the bug back in a bottle to show campmates.

Kerry and Katie’s eating trial ( 2004)

The facial acrobatics after former Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona saw what was on the menu were something to behold. But she and Katie Price stepped up to the plate, popping eyeballs and downing all manner of disgusting concoctions.

Stacey Solomon lobs stones ( 2010)

The TV personality was on a spy challenge with comic Dom Joly but struggled to get his attention. So she threw a stone at him when he was sleeping, hitting his eye. The clip went viral and Stacey was later crowned Queen of the Jungle.

Joey Essex tells the time ( 2013)

The Towie star said he struggled to tell the time on a traditional clock, so beauty queen Amy Willerton taught him, using a drawing in the dirt. Joey was so happy with his new skill he did an “I can tell the time” dance.

Harry Redknapp being himself ( 2018)

The veteran footie manager won Series 18 after capturing hearts by talking of his love for wife Sandra.

There was also his cute friendship with campmate Noel Edmonds – and the fact he admitted thinking there would be a catering van to use.

John Lydon’s rant ( 2004)

The Sex Pistols star’s rants were TV gold. Ant and Dec even had to apologise after he used expletives to describe viewers after they failed to vote him out. He later quit, saying he wanted to give others the chance to win.

Tara PT rows with Darren Day ( 2002)

Socialite Tara had a love/ hate relationship with presenter Darren and came to blows with him after he passed wind in her presence.

She was also branded a “walking disaster” after smashing a coffee pot, ending camp caffeine fixes.

Sausage- gate ( 2003)

Chef Antony Worrall Thompson incited a camp walkout when the stars won nine meals and got just nine sausages. He told show bosses: “What’s wrong with you? It’s less than 1,000 calories a day.” A compromise meal was agreed.
