The 53- year - ol d , f rom Rathfarnham, rang before going to her appointment to clarify she was hoping to buy a tailor- made outfit for her wedding and was assured she would be looked after.
However, after arriving with a small wedding entourage in tow, she was told by a salesman that the outlet operates a made- to- measure service for men only.
Maeve told the Irish Mirror : “I was shocked and disappointed. I just wanted to get a suit for my wedding which was made to fit me. The idea wasn’t even entertained.”
“My friend Deirdre could see I was close to tears and so she led me out of the shop and around the corner by the hand.”
She got fitted for a custom suit at Louis Copeland’s on Capel Street instead and described the service a s o n e of t h e b e s t s h e h a s

Magee Cl ot hi n g c hi e f Ro s y Temple i ssued a full and frank apology over what she described as a misunderstanding.
She told Liveline the company will be offering a specific made- tomeasure service for women next year.
Ms Temple said: “Our collections can be bought by all genders.
“Our made- to- measure offer is geared towards a men’s tailoring block and we will be of fering a women’s service early next year.
“Our men’s made- to- measure service can, of course, be purchased by both men and women”.
