Mauritius.
JANUARY 10, 2011 - Michaela Mcareavey is found strangled in the couple’s hotel room after going to get biscuits.
JANUARY 10, 2011 - Police arrive on the scene but do not lock down the entire complex. They fail to interview a number of guests who were staying close to room 1025.
JANUARY 12, 2011 - Three men appear in court charged with offences linked to death. JANUARY 17, 2011 - Thousands turn out for Michaela’s funeral in Tyrone. e. JANUARY 18, 2011 - A fourth man is arrested in Mauritius. FEBRUARY 2011 - One of the first three men arrested is released without charge. JULY 12, 2012 - Two men are acquitted of murder after two- month trial which h hears claims of forced confessions. JULY 15, 2012 - Mauritian newspaper publishes 12 black and white photographs of the crime scene, including images of Michaela’s body. Irish Government lodges formal complaint.
AUGUST A 2015 - After lodging a case against the Legends Hotel, John Mcareavey and his relatives allegedly receive more than £ 1million which is to be used by the newlyfor formed Michaela Foundation.
SEPTEMBER 2016 - John Mcareavey marries Tara Brennan with the full blessing of the Harte family.
APRIL 2017 - John Mcareavey offers € 50,000 rew reward for information.

DECEMBER 2020 - Mehdi Manrakhan, Ma senior assistant ass to the Mauritian DPP, DP says case closed “because no fresh evidence has been detected by the new inquiry which could have warranted a reopening or retrial”.
