FAMILIES FEARED FOR MY HIBEES
Celtic 1 Hibernian 1
RAGING Jack Ross revealed Hibs stars’ familes feared for their safety after the SPFL ordered the Easter Road men to face covid hit Celtic last night or face a points deduction.
The Hibees snatched a 1- 1 draw with the makeshift Hoops side
last night after 13 Parkhead stars were ordered into isolation along with boss Neil Lennon and no. 2 John Kennedy in the wake of Christopher Jullien contracting coronavirus on their distastrous trip to Dubai.
Celtic’s squad last night all posted negative results following Friday’s tests but Easter Road chiefs requested another round of testing yesterday – but the SPFL refused.
Ross ( left) revealed his players were under pressure from their families but the league bosses ordered the game to go ahead or Hibs would face ‘ severe penalties’.
Kevin Nisbet stuck in stoppage time and Ross said:
“The difference, compared to previous occasions this season, is that the prevalence of the virus means it’s the first time that players’ families have expressed concerns to the players themselves.
“And that changes the dynamic slightly. As responsible employers, that will force you to seek reassurance.
“In terms of the football side, they were always focused on that. But they were well within their rights to express any concerns they had.
“My responsibility is always to my players. I have a responsibility to look after them
“That’s all we did. And we were well within our rights to do so.”
