IF Myleene Klass hopes to win Dancing on Ice, she will have to skate “through the pain barrier”, with both knees injured and causing her agony even before her first solo of the show.

The 42-year-old presenter said yesterday she is wearing supports on both legs, even when not on the ice, in a bid to keep her training on schedule.

She has a torn meniscus – a cartilage in her knee – which will only heal fully once it is rested, while her “dodgy second knee” needs extra support after training sessions.

Myleene is continuing to rehearse on the ice with pro partner

Lukasz Rozycki ahead of their first dance on Sunday – and both took part in last Sunday’s group dance performance.

Insiders on the show say there is no chance she will let the pain stand in her way.

An ITV source said: “Myleene has picked up a knee injury during training and she is having physio sessions to try to help with both her knees ahead of her first dance on screen with Lukasz on Sunday.

“It is very early on to be in pain and having knee problems but Myleene is determined to carry on and won’t let it ruin her experience.

“She will be going through the pain barrier and the show means a lot to her and her children so this may not stop her but it certainly won’t help her chances of winning.”

The mum of three is the second star to suffer an injury ahead of the competition after Denise Van Outen dislocated her shoulder last week.

Meanwhile Jason Donavan said he will not be doing lots of lifts, even if it costs him marks. The singer said: “My wife is worried about me getting injured, and so am I. If you’ve had a year like 2020 and haven’t been earning and everything shifts to 2021 and you find yourself in A&E with a broken arm or leg, it doesn’t bode well. I have to be careful.

“Producers will push you because they want good TV. But you have to say if you’re not sure. I won’t be doing lifts if they put me in a silly place.” Jason, who scored an impressive 25 in week one, has a week off now until his next individual performance.

Only Lady Leshurr will be back this week, in Sunday’s skate-off against the person with the lowest public vote from the second group of six contestants.
