Island pals defend Irish star after old ‘bully’ jibes go viral
YEWANDE Biala was forced to fire back in defence after Love Island co-star Lucie Donlan claimed she bullied her.
Earlier this week, old Instagram comments surfaced on Reddit.
A fan of the 23-year-old surfer wrote: “How do you feel about @yewande_biala saying you’re a horrible person?”
Lucie responded: “She’s always bullied me, I’m not bothered about her opinion... makes her look bad. Not sure where she said that though.”
The fan added, “Living in their head rent free, keep winning”, as Lucie replied with a string of heart emojis.
And as the unearthed comments went viral on social media and their longlasting feud escalated, Meath woman Yewande, 26, hit back with support of her fellow Love Island pals.
The Irish scientist-turned-reality star said: “You refused to call me by my name because it was too ‘hard to pronounce’ now you wanna say I bullied you! Bullied.”
Yewande’s co-stars and close pals Amber Gill and Amy Hart raced to Twitter shortly after to back her up.
Amber, who won the series with
Irish rugby ace Greg O’shea that year, suggested the feud stems from never-before-seen footage from the show. She claimed Lucie requested to call Yewande “Y” as she “couldn’t pronounce her name”.
Amber wrote: “Na when she said can I call you ‘Y’ I said lol no you can’t can I just call you ‘her’ you were peaceful in that exchange it was me with the vim.”
Fellow Islander on the 2019 series,
Elma Pazar, replied: “Wow. Just wow.” Amy shared a Friends meme writing: “Is there really nothing else
I can call you?”
Like Amber, she went on to suggest there was a lot of behind the scenes drama that occurred between the feuding pair that fans didn’t see.
