A-list Nicole to star in series based on Irish author’s book
NICOLE Kidman and a starstudded cast are set to appear in a new series created by author Cecelia Ahern.
Apple has given the go ahead for a series about what it means to be a woman, which is based on her short story collection called Roar, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
A-list actress Nicola Kidman will feature alongside Alison Brie and Cynthia Evrivo for the female-slanted Apple TV+ series. The series, which is also called Roar, is based on a book by the Irish author which was released three years ago.
It is the latest of Cecelia’s publications to get the Hollywood treatment.
PS I Love You became a huge blockbuster when it hit the cinemas in 2007 starring Gerard Butler and Oscar winner Hilary Swank. Her novel, Love Rosie, was also turned into a romantic comedy starring Lily Collins and Sam Claflin in 2014.
Meanwhile, more than six million Germans tuned in to her television movie Zwischen Himmel und Hier – Between Heaven and Here – when it premiered a few years ago. It’s underanthology stood Roar will consist of eight half-hour episodes, each told from a uniquely female point of view and covering a wide variety of genres.
Kidman is also an executive producer along with her Blossom Films partner Per Saari.
The Australian actress is in the midst of a golden period on the small screen with all her TV projects turning into global smash hits.
Roar has been described as a “fiercely feminist story collection”.
