CONOR Mcgregor flouted Covid rules by posing unmasked in a shop with a bottle of his whiskey.

Notorious, 32, was slammed online after posting the video of him holding the Proper 12 in Straffan, Co Kildare.

One fan said: “How come the rest of us have to wear a mask in the shop?”

It came as 39 further coronavirus deaths and 462 cases were reported.

CONOR Mcgregor has been slammed for not wearing a mask while posing with his own whiskey in a shop.

The UFC star was snapped at the Gala store in Straffan, Co Kildare, where he bought a bottle of Proper 12.

The fighter posted a video to his Instagram account on Wednesday with the caption “Support local”.

The man behind the counter is protected by plexiglass and a mask, while Covid-19 guideline posters are also clearly visible beside the till.

In the video, the 32-year-old joked with staff and acted surprised with the €35 price tag on the bottle. He also asked for a receipt.

He said: “You’re selling Proper 12. How’s it going? How’s the sales going? I really appreciate it, it means a lot to see the support. It’s not that long since you’ve been selling it here, no? We’ll get you a display.”

The Dubliner was hit with a backlash from some of his 39 million followers.

RESPECT

One fan wrote: “Show respect and wear a mask.”

While another asked: “How come the rest of us have to wear a mask in the shop?”

And a third follower added: “You sure are a champ but you must wear your damn mask man.”

One Twitter user said: “How do you donate so much money to hospitals for ICU beds and PPE in the country... and still not wear a mask?”

Meanwhile, another added: “Fella calls for the army to close the borders, has five holidays a year and can’t wear masks into shops.”

People found not wearing a mask can be fined €80 and refusal to pay could lead to punishments of up to a €1,000 fine or a month in prison.

The Proper 12 brand forms part of the father of two’s efforts to continue building his business empire ahead of his career outside of the octagon.

Last week it emerged he had forked out €1.9million for the Black Forge bar in his native Crumlin.

And Notorious has spent another €1million renovating the Dublin premises into a gastro pub.
