Oh will UK just give us a Brexit

- BY DARRAGH BERRY

ANOTHER day, another argument between the EU and the UK over Brexit.

This time, Simon Coveney has said the EU can’t trust Britain over their latest move which has broken the Northern Ireland Protocol.

It’s disappointing that after all of this time, negotiations are still like pulling hen’s teeth as the EU works to secure a positive outcome.

Mr Coveney said the whole process is very frustrating and it’s easy to understand why.

It has been drawn out too long already and hopefully the British Government wise up to the relationships they are damaging sooner rather than later.

THE grounds of the busiest hospital in the country were closed off to the public yesterday morning after the discovery of an “explosive chemical” in the area.

The Army Bomb Disposal Team rushed to St James’s Hospital in central Dublin to carry out a controlled explosion after the find.

Gardai were alerted about the “hazardous and suspicious substance” shortly after 7am and immediately called in the bomb squad for assistance.

The Army team identified the material as a chemical that had become explosive and carried out a controlled explosion.

The grounds of the hospital were reopened to the public after the twohour security operation.

A WOMAN was taken to hospital after a crash that saw three children escape serious injury.

Emergency services were called to the scene at lunchtime on Wednesday on the Freshford road near Kilkenny city.

Gardai closed the route for a time as they dealt with the two-car smash, with a woman in her 50s having to be cut from a car.

She was rushed to St Luke’s Hospital and her injuries are not thought to be life-changing. The three kids in the car with her luckily avoided injury, it was reported.

The occupant of the other vehicle was not hurt.
