Ireland’s bedroom worries laid bare in risque research

- BY CATHAL AUSTIN news@irishmirror.ie

IRISH women’s biggest hang-ups about sex are that it will be a letdown and there will be no natural chemistry, research revealed.

And for men the greatest worry is that it will be over too soon according to Ireland’s top 10 sexual worries.

The study of 2,000 people carried out by a leading affairs site found women’s greatest sexual fear is a lack of natural chemistry while men worry most about sex being over too soon.

And 78% of females and 62% of males have admitted they are anxious before sleeping with a new partner for the first time.

Body image is a big fear for both men and women, the second biggest female worry is that their partner will not like their body, particularly their boobs.

Interestingly, the study revealed that men also fret about their boobs – enough for “man-boob” anxiety to place third on the fears list for them.

According to Illicit Encounters 82% of women and 84% of men say they know within five minutes of sleeping with someone if they click sexually,.

For two-thirds of women (62%) and more than half of men 54% first-time sex can be awkward and the physical side of a relationship improves as you get to know someone better.

The affairs website has seen a 14% rise in subscriptions this year as people look to start affairs with the lockdown lifting.

CHEMISTRY

Illicitencounters.com sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni said: “We all have sex fears, particularly just before we sleep with a new partner for the first time.

“Some couples have zero sexual chemistry even if they have great sexual technique.

“Nearly all couples know if they click sexually with someone new within five minutes of first sleeping together. Lots of people can tell from the first kiss.

“It is worth remembering that even the most perfect sexual chemistry dulls over time because sex can get routine in a long-term relationship.

“That is why so many couples are up for having affairs, particularly as we start coming out of lockdown and restrictions are lifted.”

Jessica said the next three months will be the busiest in the site’s 17-year history due to an affairs “explosion” as social distancing comes to an end.
