Larry reveals there’s a cha cha chance Rte bosses will give series green light
dancing With The stars boss larry Bass is still waiting in hope to get the green light from rte for the show’s return and revealed a decision is expected “imminently”.
The executive producer of the RTE hit was devastated his firm was not in a position to bring the series back in January.
Announcing the news this time last year, the Shinawil Productions chief said the safety and welfare of the crews and celebrities is the main priority and told how the burdens and uncertainty that come with the loss of jobs was something that “deeply affects us all”.
Holding out hope for a different outcome this year, Larry told Irish Daily Mirror: “We are still talking to RTE about it.
“I’m always positive or I wouldn’t be in this business. But we have to wait until RTE decides what they want to do.
“And once they decide, if we are lucky enough to get that decision, we will be ready to execute.”
Asked whether the decision will come down to budget allowances or the tight restrictions due to the pandemic, he added: “It’s a whole range of things. Obviously Covid protocols have to be adhered to, and FINGERS CROSSED Larry Bass that is just life now, and every show will have those protocols and no show can be made without them. So we have to march on and get on with it.”
Meanwhile, RTE have also put out a call for audience members for the new season of the Late Late Show. However, only adults who can provide proof of vaccination will be accepted.
A post on the RTE website reads: “We’ve missed you! The
Late Late Show is looking forward to welcoming our studio audience back when it is safe to do so.”
