RTE is looking for singletons to take part in a brand new dating show.

The Love Experiment will see strangers ask each other a series of questions scientific studies suggest could see them find their perfect partner.

RTE said: “Far removed from the world of dating apps and devices, The Love Experiment brings people back to basics as they seek to make authentic human connections.

“Ask the questions… and you could fall in love!” Created in 1997 by psychologist

Dr Arthur Aron at Stony Brook University, New York, the 36 questions examine accelerated intimacy between strangers.

In his experiment with a man and woman the questions were followed by four minutes of sustained eye contact.

This couple got married six months later. The questions are supposed to provoke deep thought and give your date background information on why you are the way you are. The questions include: What is your most treasured memory? What is the greatest accomplishment of your life? And, what do you most regret not having told someone?

The challenge is to answer the questions openly and honestly and then stare into each other’s eyes in silence.

It comes after the broadcaster, who also have popular dating show First Dates put out a call out for people to take part in a new “celebrity dating show” that will air on RTE 2 later this year.

Producers Alleycats TV are remaining tight-lipped on the details of the show but have put a call out for single Dubs from the ages of 18 to early 40s to take part – strongly hinting that they could hook up with the celeb of their dreams.

Filming will take place in locations across Ireland this summer.

Anyone interested in entering RTE’S new show, featuring the quiz, can fill in an application form on RTE.IE or email theloveexperiment@rte.ie.
