Farewell to an old favourite

-

Channel 5, 9pm

MOVIE star Margot Robbie joins the likes of heartthrob Jesse Spencer, Delta Goodrem, Kym Valentine and Carla Bonner in this super-nostalgic last-ever episode.

The double-bill finale sees the end of an era as the Australian soap bows out after 37 years.

If we’re being honest, most people haven’t properly watched Neighbours since the 80s and 90s when Scott and Charlene (Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue) owned our hearts, Bouncer had vivid dreams, Mrs Mangel terrified the residents, and Lucy Robinson kept changing faces.

But in a gift to fans everywhere, even those who went away for a couple of decades, producers have brought back every single famous face who would say yes – and there are a lot. Back together, you’ll see Jane

Harris (Annie Jones), Harold Bishop (Ian Smith), Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis), and yes, even golden couple Scott and Charlene, sipping champagne on the famous street.

Other alumni back for a last hurrah are Guy Pearce as Mike Young, Peter O’brien as Shane Ramsay, Mark Little as Joe Mangel and Paul Keane as Des Clarke.

You’ll be forgiven for thinking you have travelled back in time as the familiar faces have been rocking up one by one this week. Jane gives Mike a tour of all the Ramsay Street houses before they go under the hammer.

And as old feelings are stirred up, Clive’s jealousy leads to a rather shocking confrontation.

Harold asks Karl and Susan to be the custodians of the history book.

And prepare to weep as friends and family gather for Toadie and Melanie’s wedding and one big final celebration.

It’s not to be missed.
