Met warn of mixed bag of weather on the way
MIXED weather conditions are set to put a dampener on the August Bank Holiday weekend so don’t forget the raincoat and umbrella.
With plenty of events and activities happening across the weekend from the Galway Races and Altogether Now music festival in Waterford to Indiependence Festival in Cork and Cork Pride, be sure to pack for showers.
Met Eireann predicts mixed conditions over the weekend while Bank Holiday Monday is set to be a wash-out with outbreaks of rain moving across the country turning heavy in the afternoon and evening.

Current indications show that Bank Holiday Monday will be mostly dull with outbreaks of rain moving across the country.
The rain will be heaviest in the afternoon and evening.
The temperatures on Monday will remain similar to the weekend ranging between 17C and 23C according to Met Eireann.
Meanwhile, the Irish Motorcycle Association is appealing to drivers to look out for bikers during the changeable weather.
The appeal is being made as 18 motorcyclists have died so far in 2022 – an increase of 5 on 2021.
The IMA’S Michael Noonan said: “Drivers should expect to encounter motorcyclists on the road more often at this time of year.
“It is critical that drivers look out for motorcyclists especially, at junctions.”
