AN “extremely violent” murder squad were behind the attempted hit on three Irishmen which included a pal of Dublin gang boss Mr Flashy, Spanish police have established.

Flashy’s associate was injured in the incident in Spain on September 20, 2022, but sources said the reactions of the trio saved their lives.

The Irishmen were fishing in Turtle Lake outside Marbella when the six-man hit team arrived to kill them.

The injured man, who is from Finglas and aged in his mid-20s,

PAL HURT Gangster Mr Flashy was shot once in the side and made his own way to hospital but he refused to co-operate with the police.

However, the Irish Mirror can reveal that investigations led to the identification of the alleged hit team – all British nationals – who were arrested and are now in custody. One source described them as “extremely violent, with access to several firearms, including military grade weaponry typical of professional hit teams”.

Once identified, raids were carried out by Spanish police who discovered their deadly arsenal.

The haul of weapons included a Czech-made Skorpion submachine gun capable of firing 850 rounds per minute, two Ekol Tuna pistols, a Grand Power handgun and a Smith & Wesson revolver, along with 300 rounds of ammunition. Also found were bulletproof vests, balaclavas, several machetes and tasers. A hatchet and cable ties were also seized, together with GPS trackers and a mobile signal blocker.

A source said: “They were going to try to kill these three individuals again, there’s no doubt about that.

“The Irish were lucky to get away, but they would have been targeted again. This was not a warning.”

The British gangsters were finally detained near Marbella.

During a tense stand-off, one of the men pointed his armed weapon at arresting police, only dropping it after a number of warning shots were fired.
