SAOIRSE Ronan’s hit movie Brooklyn will replace tonight’s Late Late Show as host Patrick Kielty takes “a break” for Easter.

At the end of last Friday’s edition, the 53-year-old presenter announced the RTE chat show would be “taking a break” this weekend.

Asked why The Late Late Show wasn’t airing, a spokesman for the station said: “As previously announced The Late Late Show run has fewer episodes this series.

“The Late Late Show will be back on air on Friday, April 5 with a GAA special to coincide with the start of the Championship.”

However, Patrick’s wife Cat Deeley has shed some light on her husband’s whereabouts.

The This Morning host and her co-star Ben Shephard announced they were taking a “break” from the ITV show, just weeks after signing up to their new roles.

On Thursday’s episode, where 47-year-old Cat tested her mettle with a special challenge with the stars of BBC One show Gladiators, she said the family was going to take a “holiday”.

Before Cat mentioned their break, people were already chatting about it online.

Posting on X, one person wrote: “Ben and Cat will be on for like two weeks then will go off for Easter for about three weeks... ridiculous.”

Another added: “They should’ve started after Easter and the studio itself given a makeover.”

We can also reveal Patrick will finish his first series as Late Late host on May 10.

He is being paid €250,000 for 30 episodes this season after he replaced Ryan Tubridy last September.

He also got a one-off payment of €20,000 to cover the pre-production and rehearsals last summer before the show aired.

Kielty’s most recent show saw Derry Girls and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan joined by Mel B on the sofa.

It was clear that Nicola and Mel were fans of each other and as the former Spice Girl probed her with questions about her next project with Kielty jokingly walking away from his desk as if to suggest he was no longer needed.

The Late Late Show Twitter account even joked that Mel B was “guest host” for the night.
