FOUR SUSPECTS IN COURT Court hears gardai faced ‘prolonged, dangerous violence’

THREE men and a woman appeared in court charged in connection with a “large scale public order incident” at a site earmarked to accommodat­e asylum seekers.

At Bray District Court, Insp Niall Kennedy said gardai were met by a level of violence that was “relentless, prolonged, and extremely dangerous” during protests outside River Lodge/trudder House in Newtownmou­ntkennedy in Wicklow.

Insp Kennedy said Garda cars were damaged during the protests. The accused were Michael
