City’s striking Viking warns rivals his thirst for silverware will never be quenched after ‘unreal’ feeling winning Treble last season

- JEREMY CROSS

ERLING HAALAND has warned his rivals he is on a mission to win as many trophies as possible.

Haaland landed himself a Treble last season in his first campaign after joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in a £52million deal.

The Norway superstar is also on course to win a Premier League and FA Cup Double this time round.

But in an ominous warning to City’s challengers, Haaland has told them his thirst for silverware will never be quenched.

Haaland admitted winning the Treble (below) felt “unreal” – and increased his appetite for success.

The striker told the Men In Blazers podcast: “I want more. Right now my only focus is winning the Premier League and after that, the FA Cup.

“But I want to win more of these big trophies, because the Treble feeling was unreal. It’s about trying to be successful and develop as a player and a person.”

Haaland, meanwhile, has told pundit Roy Keane he is talking rubbish by labelling him a spoilt brat for falling out with Pep Guardiola.

Haaland appeared to have a row with the City boss (below) after being hauled off during last weekend’s hammering of Wolves.

But Haaland insists his anger was not aimed at Guardiola and the pair of them are just fine.

He added: “I wasn’t mad because of that (being subbed). I was mad for something completely different.

“I was super happy because

Julian Alvarez came on and scored. I’d love to score more goals, but I wasn’t mad about getting subbed off.

“I’m happy for the guy who came on for me, Julian – and that’s how it is.”

The 23-year-old has hit back at his critics and told them he could not care less how much he touches the ball – as long as he scores goals.

Haaland came under fire for having just 32 touches in last week’s 5-1 win over Wolves, despite finding the back of the net four times. But he insists his job is to score, not dominate possession like midfield team-mates such as Rodri.

Haaland, who has plundered another 25 league goals this season, said: “There has always been this discussion on how many times I should touch the ball.

“When I score nobody talks about this, but when I don’t people start to mention my touches. This is a part of my life, it’s how people will speak and I can’t control what people say about me.

“I just have to focus on what I should do on the pitch – and my job isn’t to be like Rodri, to control a game, it’s being in the box and finishing the attacks.

“That’s my focus and I don’t care about what people say. It’s about focusing on helping the team win.”
