Scrap Artists!

After Ben and J-LO were caught arguing on camera at the Grammys, we look at other times celebrities had public showdowns... By Niamh Mceneaney

It seems an awards ceremony can’t take place these days without a controversial incident hogging the spotlight — and it usually has nothing to do with the winners! Take the recent Grammy Awards for instance. Despite the fact that Harry Styles — and some may say controversially — nabbed the Album Of Theyear award ahead of ABBA, Adele and Beyonce, and not to mention the latter taking home more of those little golden gramophones than any other artist EVER, neither of these stories made the headlines.

Instead, the most-clicked incident at the 2023 Grammy Awards was… a married couple having an argument.

The couple in question was J-LO and Ben Affleck, but still, was it really that big of a deal? Apparently so. The pair were unknowingly caught on camera having a heated exchange, and it enthralled viewers so much that lip readers were scrambling to decipher what the singer said to her actor hubby.

Apparently she was scolding

Ben for not looking“friendly”or “motivated”during the ceremony. He frowns, straightens up his posture, before it quickly dawns on the pair it was caught on camera.

Frosty-faced Lopez tried to cover up the moment, though her husband had a vacant expression throughout the evening. And it seems Ben has form when it comes to arguing in public…

Many people around the world were surprised to learn that he and Jennifer Garner were set to go their separate ways. There were plenty of rumours in 2015 that Ben had been unfaithful in their marriage with the family’s former nanny, Christine Ouzounian.

The couple had recently returned home from holiday when a fight broke out shortly after they’d dropped their three children at school. Onlookers told In Touch that Jen and Ben were in their SUV when things got out of hand.

They claim there was lots of gesturing throughout it all, and it looked as though Jen was crying.

Some people believe Ben was making it clear their marriage was over, and he was going forward with the divorce.

Snow Patrol musician Johnny Mcdaid and actress Courteney Cox have been engaged, un-engaged, and living separately for the majority of their relationship, even though they’ve been together for seven years.

The pair were still engaged when they were captured by some local paps at a restaurant. The Daily Mail reported Courteney and Johnny were busy planning their nuptials when they started fighting about the finer details. Insiders also told reporters the couple couldn’t agree where they would live as Johnny supposedly wanted to move back to the UK, and Courteney wanted to stay in LA.

Like many stars, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence were always particularly quiet about their relationship when they were together. We do know that they met on the set of the superhero X-men movies and dated for five years. Even though things didn’t work out, it’s said the two actors have remained friends ever since.

However, they did have their moments. It’s reported the pair were at a restaurant together when things got a little heated. Witnesses claim Jen was upset about something they were discussing and threw her hands into the air. They say the next thing they knew, Nicholas also started shouting before Jen had enough and walked out — leaving her ex to cover the bill.

Possibly the most famous celebrity couple fight caught on camera took place in 2014 as

Jay-z, Beyonce and her sister Solange were all in an elevator together when Solange suddenly started hitting and kicking out at the rapper. She was pulled off her brother-in-law, and the group managed to recoup themselves before they stepped out in front of the waiting cameras.

Footage of the event eventually emerged, and people everywhere
