A romance for the ages!
With his most recent dalliances making the headlines, here’s the loves of Leonardo Dicaprio’s life… By Rachel Beresford
Leonardo Dicaprio is bestknown for being an Oscarwinning actor but nowadays he makes headlines more for his dates than his movies. The eternal bachelor, who has never been married, is often mocked online for trading in his girlfriends when they reach the age of 25 — but, recently, social media vitriol was aimed at the 48-year-old when he was spotted with model Eden Polani, who, at 19, is nearly 30 years his junior.
Titanic star Leo was first pictured with Paris-born beauty at an EP launch party, with his current girlfriendvictoria Lamas (23) noticeably absent from the event.
With rumours rife that Eden was the actor’s latest squeeze, we’re taking a look back at Leo’s dating history…
Leo’s first high-profile relationship was with Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen who was just 18, to Leonardo’s 25, when the pair first met in 1999.
The couple enjoyed a five-year courtship before Gisele ended the relationship in 2004.
In 2009, Gisele said,“we were very young, and we grew together in a lot of ways,”bündchen said in a March 2009 interview withvanity Fair.“we were just not meant to be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I respect him enormously, and I wish him nothing but the best.”
Another five-year relationship began less than a year after the One of the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor’s relationship with Gisele came to an end when he met Israeli model Bar Refaeli.
Leonardo was 30 when the couple first met in 2005 while Bar was just 20 — and the end of the pair’s romance coincided with the model turning 25.
In 2011, Leo, then 37, met Gossip
Girl Blake Lively, who at the time was just 23, and the pair dated for one year after they struck up a romance after Blake auditioned for the role of Daisy Buchanan for Leo’s The Great Gatsby.
Gossip Girl showrunner Joshua Safran toldvanity Fair in a 2017 interview that Blake would often send her beau pictures of a doll to express her feelings.
“Blake was dating (Dicaprio) at the time, and she had this thing where she had a doll that she took photos of that she sent to Leo,”he said.
The two went their separate ways in 2012 and Blake, now 35, is married to Ryan Reynolds (46) and currently pregnant with their fourth child.
After Blake, Dicaprio briefly datedvictoria’s Secret model Erin Heatherton who was just 22 before moving on to another model, Toni Garrn, who was just 21 and whom he dated for one year, from 2013 to 2014, when he was aged 39.
In 2015, Leo met 25-year-old Baywatch actress Kelly Rohrbach and the pair date for about six months before going their separate ways in late 2015.
Another of Leo’s high-profile relationships ended when his significant other, this time Danish model Nina Agdal, turned 25.
The pair dated between 2016 and 2017 and in late 2016 it was reported that things were getting serious between the two.
A source told PEOPLE in October 2016 that Dicaprio and Agdal seemed “more serious”.
“Leo seems very into her,”the source said.“he constantly holds her hand and kisses her. Nina seems to enjoy Leo’s company too. She acts very giddy around him. She has great energy and seems to make Leo very happy.”
The source added,“whenever they spend time together, Leo acts very happy. For Leo, Nina seems like a breath of fresh air.”
However, things ended after Nina turned 25 in March of 2017 when Leonardo was aged 43.
Just months after his split from Agdal, Dicaprio met model-turnedactress Camila Morrone, who was just 20 years old, and the pair went on to enjoy a five-year romance, growing especially close during the pandemic. However, the two reportedly split early last summer when Leo was 47 and
Camila was 24.
At the time of the split, reports claimed that the decision was Morrone’s, with Dicaprio keen to settle down but Morrone not feeling ready.
A source exclusively told
The U.S. Sun that Camila was focused on her budding acting career and was not ready to have kids while Leo wanted to start a family.
The source added,“it was Camila who broke it off with Leo because he wanted her to be home having babies and she wants to have a career. He has got to that point in his life where he wants to have a family.
“But Camila has been working towards her dreams since she was 16, when she was in James Franco’s movie Bukowski.”
After his split with Morrone, Leonardo allegedly enjoyed a brief fling with supermodel Gigi Hadid, who had just come out of a longterm relationship with former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, with who Gigi shares a child, daughter Khai.
Aged 27, Leo’s relationship with Gigi raised a lot of eyebrows — which is why their split shortly after meeting wasn’t met with much surprise by online critics.
Since last December, Leo has been in a relationship with model and actress Victoria Lamas (23), who is the daughter of actor Lorenzo Lamas.
The pair reportedly spent New Year’s together but with Leo’s recent night out with Eden, rumours are swirling that Leo has already moved on. ■
