DAMIEN LETS LOOSE ON DATE NIGHT

IDamien plans a romantic night out with Mairead for her day off. But, after learning about Maxine’s girlfriend trouble, Mairead agrees to meet for drinks, hampering

Damien’s plans for a romantic evening.

Later, Mairead is happy to see Damien and Maxine getting along but keeps Maxine’s relationsh­ip problems to herself.

The next day, a hungover Damien drags himself into work where Maxine warns him not to drive the company van as he is over the drink driving limit.

BUT, pressured by Rafferty, Damien decides to take the chance but crashes the van into a bollard.

Later, Zak tells Damien that he can fix his problem, but Damien dismisses the offer.

But feeling guilty, he later lies to Maxine about driving the van, and, fearing Rafferty will fire him, Damien and Mairead contemplat­e how they might cover up the crash.

Soon, Damien is pressing Zak on the van repair and lies to Rafferty to cover his tracks. But he panics when Maxine questions why Zak has the keys to the van.

Meanwhile, Mairead agrees to go along with Damien’s lie that she drove the company van while Damien is overwhelme­d having Maxine stay at the flat as they continue to butt heads at work.

Also this week, Mondo urges

Alex to respect Melanie’s decision to work at the laundrette as Mel sees an opportunit­y to advance her career when Joan visits.

And when Zoe informs Hughie that she’s moving out of The

Pod, Alex is concerned that her new accommodat­ion is too far away.

Hughie offers Zoe a bike to help with her work commute but she misconstru­es the kind gesture as predatory.

Later, Alex worries that he won’t see much of Zoe when she moves to her new place and Dearbhla warns Zoe against buying an e-scooter from Zak.

Meanwhile, Alex tries to make amends with Hughie, but Hughie is still hurt over the accusation­s.

Finally this week, Rafferty learns that Nora is on the mend and resolves to end things with

Carol immediatel­y.

But Sharon’s guilt soars...
