FEARS FOR PADDY

Things turn dark in this week’s trip to Emmerdale as everyone is stunned when a dishevelled Paddy is found standing in the doorway with a holdall, ready to flee the village.

Marlon makes a beeline for him but Chas is irritated by his behaviour.

And when Bear enters with Eve, it’s an emotional reunion for all and Chas finally realises the hurt in Paddy’s eyes.

Later, though, Paddy plays up his happiness to get Marlon off his back but when Marlon leaves, Paddy’s facade crumbles as he’s left utterly bereft and broken.

As Paddy goes about his day seemingly making amends with family and friends, unbeknownst to them all Paddy is saying his veiled goodbyes and leaves his dad Bear a letter.

Later, with Paddy having gone,

Bear makes the horrifying discovery of the letter. He contacts Marlon who scrambles to go and find him.

But when Rhona delivers the appalling news about the missing bolt gun from the vet surgery, the reality of what he is doing really sets in and they all hope they can find him in time.

Elsewhere this week, Matty fails to hide his inner conflict when he asks Amy if sole custody of Kyle is the best thing for him.

Amy, meanwhile, tries to stay strong for a terrified Kyle ahead of his hearing.

Feeling powerless ahead of his son’s hearing, Cain strong arms his way into Keepers to see Kyle, leaving Amy fuming at his intrusion.

But seeing how important it is for Cain and Kyle to share a moment, Caleb persuades Amy to relent.

And everyone is left on tenterhooks when Kyle’s solicitor phones with big news.

Later, Amy spontaneously proposes to Matty — and Moira’s delighted to hear about the proposal from Matty, however she can’t help noticing his unease and Matty confesses his fear that the proposal was part of Amy’s plan to get full custody of Kyle.

So Moira rages at Matty’s news regarding Amy’s custody intentions.
