IMaxine does Damien a favour when Rafferty puts him under pressure at work but a stressed Rafferty later softens when Damien offers a sympathetic ear.
Damien, meanwhile, is rattled to learn that Maxine has been in a car accident and confronts Zak about the dodgy van repair — but Zak denies responsibility.
Damien, though, is guilt-ridden to learn the impact the crash has had on Maxine and he is further unnerved when Zak threatens to reveal all to Rafferty.
Mairead urges a worried Damien to take no notice of Zak’s threats while Maxine praises Mairead and Damien for their hospitality, compounding Damien’s guilt. Rafferty, meanwhile, insists Maxine takes paid time off to recuperate, secretly fearing she might sue.
Later in the week, Damien’s guilt is still continuing to eat at him, but Mairead persuades him to keep his head down.
That’s easier said than done, though, as Zak blackmails Damien into a business arrangement — foisting the stolen generators on Damien, leading to a close call with Rafferty.
Zak continues to pressure Damien to do business under the threat of violence from Goo Eyes but when Dean tips Damien off that Zak is laundering money through Tommy’s landscaping business, Damien uses his new intel as leverage — threatening to go to the guards if Zak doesn’t back off.
Elsewhere this week, Carol shuts down Rafferty’s request to remain amicable while giving Ray her blessing to propose to Nora.
Ray, meanwhile, is appalled when Sharon informs him that she and Rafferty are together while Carol tells Rafferty that she’s over him.
Sharon, meanwhile, assures
Hayley that her relationship with Rafferty is the real deal and so Hayley defends Sharon against Carol’s harsh treatment.
Hayley also stands up to Carol on Sharon’s behalf and the pair reach a reluctant truce.
Finally, Dearbhla urges Zoe to accept her help regarding the stolen scooter while Zak denies the scooter theft.
