LIFE’S NOT A HOLIDAY FOR DAMIEN
In Carrigstown this week, Mairead informs Orla that her trip to Germany with Damien is off due to budget constraints.
Orla and Mairead, meanwhile, share their concern about Carol’s wellbeing following the kidnapping. But Carol is taken aback when Orla offers her a sympathetic ear, insisting she’s fine.
Later, Orla notes that the cancelled Germany trip has created some tension between Damien and Mairead so she recruits Mairead to join her for a drink with Carol to mend fences.
Orla also invites Mairead for a spa day out but she can’t make it due to work commitments.
And when Orla receives thank you flowers meant for Mairead, she is intrigued by the card attached.
She later deduces that Mairead covered Phoebe’s fees without telling
Damien and this was the real reason their vacation was cancelled.
And her suspicion grows when
Mairead lies that the flowers were a Valentine’s Day gift from Damien.
Later in the week, Mairead is relieved to pick up overtime at Phelans, hoping to get the Germany trip back on track.
But as relations remain awkward between Mairead and Orla, Mairead volunteers Damien to give Orla and Junior a lift to Junior’s soccer match.
On the journey, Damien shares his disappointment over the cancelled trip to see his daughter in Munich, but Orla encourages him to start saving and make it happen.
But secretly, Orla enjoys spending time with Damien.
Elsewhere, James and Maxine put the finish touches to the raffle preparations in the Community Centre as Carol commends Hayley on her plan coming together.
Hayley, meanwhile, busies Maxine and James with schmoozing the charity rep so she can make her move.
But her plan to destroy James are foiled when he insists that she pull the winning raffle ticket.
Also this week, Dean learns from Dearbhla and Gar that Fergal is missing so Dean phones local hospitals trying to locate him.
And as Gar and Dearbhla note how torn up Dean is about Fergal’s disappearance, Dean is horrified when Dearbhla gets a call from ‘Vicky’.
James works hard to sell the final raffle tickets for the apartment giveaway while Carol presses Hayley to make her move on James but Hayley urges her to be patient.
Later, Hayley tells Anto her plan to transfer 50k of the charity raffle money into an account in James’ name and get him arrested for fraud.
